Talking Tested all the mods!!

Well as you can see by my mod list I have been doing some tinkering with the EVO. I tested the mods out tonight at the track. I ran twice as not to destroy my clutch. I had the boost set to 19.00-19.5. This track is in South Carolina just across the bridge from my town in Ga. My gas tank was half full and the temp was about 70 degrees. I was very pleased with both runs as I took out a Trans AM and a Mustang boss GT. They didn't like it!

Here is my best time. I tried to take a pic of the sheet, but it would not focus very well.

Reaction time .174
60ft 1.804
330ft 5.376
1/8 8.358
1/8sp 81.80
1/4mi time 13.090
1/4mi 102.76

I figure this is not to bad with just two runs under my belt. (with this car)

I have a B&B down pipe and a perin cat delete pipe due on Tuesday. I will be curious to see if they help.

Thanks for all the information evolutionm.net!!!

Nice run, what do you think of the suction intake from HKS... I am debating between that one and the carbon fiber box style...

I only have an fact based opinion on the HKS intake. It is loud. It sounds like a hoover. The BOV is very load joined with the intake. I like it. The B&B pipe is very quiet, it is nice to annouce my arival with something. Plus you can scare dogs and people on the sidewalk. I wrote a post with my install and basicly stated that I felt no butt dyno improvement with the intake and exhaust. The EBC and SAFC II gave me the increase in HP I was looking for. Search the post titled "intake, exhaust, boost controll,BOV" I have a little more info.

I would assume the box would be a louder than stock, because of the material. If you leave the stock rubber intake then the db level would stay near stock. I would think there would be no HP improvement that you could feel, same with any intake. The intake is only one part of the mod equation.

I got you, most likely i am going to go the same route you did with the suction kit, i want to use the XS RFL BOV set to VTA, but i have to hook up my emange before that can be done... I don't want to sacrifice bogging or stalling for no reason...

But great times though...

Just another note. If you want a VTA for the sound, I will tell you the HKS suction kit will let a DV BOV sound like a VTA. I promise you on that. It is loud as hell. Almost to loud.

I could not handle the stall problem associated with a VTA. My personal feelings are to go with a DV BOV. You may could program VTA issues out someway, but that I am not familar with. Have fun either way.

Thanks. It is not a pro tree light. It lights up 1,2,3 then go. I have been running bikes there for years. If I don't know the timing by now, I need to go home. Let out the clutch on the third bulb you get a .001 to .400. After I do the installs of the new exhaust parts I will run it again. Then next is some type of clutch for consistancy and one that can handle aggresive driving.

he's right on about the sound from the diverter valve. I run the HKS with the forge recirc, and that ***** is loud, almost sounds fake. It blows right into the intake, I think it will actually start to annoy me, and there's nothing to do but put the stock box back on. The stock recirc valve is just as loud too.
