most likely. I took it to Mitsubishi and had the immobilizer reset. Even though I put in the right code, it still wouldn't start.

I have this in my car. Motor, engine harness, 05 ACD dash harness or IX dash harness, and IX ecu. You have to get the emmobilizer to match to your car, or just disable it.
Is it worth it IMO? Not really.
If anyone is looking for a IX longblock and harness I can get them used, For way cheaper then the guys on page 1 and 2 were discussing.

Hi, I'm doing this on my u.k. car....how cheap can you get the engine harness, and if it's cheap enough, would you post to a u.k. address?

Cheers, Andy.

Has anyone done this by just modifying the 8 engine harness, from what I can see there are only about 8 wires need to be altered from the 9 ecu for the extra sensors. Don't understand about the 2 relays on the firewall, no-one in the U.K. seems to do anything about them? If one of them is supposed to be for a fuel pump, the 8 will have that already.

Also, what have other people done to supply an oil feed for the Mivec. I'm going to run an oil supply line from the oil filter housing to the back of the head using Aeroquip braided hose. Anyone else done it that way?

Thanks, Andy.

Is there a reason why you guys are doing a whole longblock swap instead of just a head swap to MIVEC heads?

Yes. The blocks are different. And hell, I'd almost rather swap a longblock than swap a head. Tough choice...would save you from doing a lot of crap like timing, headstuds, etc. That is, if you get a longblock that's ready to drop in.

blocks are the same, the only thing that u will need is a costume mivec line. Stanley steel line will be the easy option.

That's what I meant. So they're not the same, it requires drilling that feed hole and making a custom oil line. Can't just swap the head.

So no-one has run an oil line for the Mivec from the oil filter housing? Oh well, I'll be first then, gotta be a damn sight easier than drilling the block!
