Unhappy Stock and leaner tune produced the same HP & TQ curves

I was looking at some old logs and found something very interesting. The old logs were done with a boost controller set at 22 psi with the stock tune. The stock tune run under 10 AFR after 5500 RPMs and by redline runs about 20 deg if I remember correctly. The newer logs (they are newer but still about 1 yr old) were done with the same boost with new maps. These maps are set at 11.1 AFR flat until redline. And run about 17 deg by redline.

I thought the new maps were better but the interesting thing is that I run both maps through the excel virtual dyno and I got almost identical curves. So the leaner maps were not good at all or the stock rich map is not that bad with good timing. Here are the two plots. Base is stock map and comparison is the leaner map. What do you think?

You didn't add any boost between the tunes? What was the knock like?

The lower timing of the leaner tune will rob you some power.

Actually you picked up about 15 hp/15 tq mid-range.... sometimes it isn't just about the peak number, you have to look at the entire picture...

Boost was pretty much the same. Zero knock on the leaner tune. I think the stock tune was knockier but nothing high. A couple of knocks during spool and peak. I was expecting more torque from 5500 on due to the leaner mix. I still think something must be wrong.

Add those 3 degrees of timing you lost and see how much power you pick up
