i have built a car for my friend using a buschur 2.3 and an HTA35R Cast mani kit from buschur...and the car turned out so responsive and enjoyable to drive....feels almost like a stock turbo however gets crazier as the rpm climbs rather than start dying out on top rpms

I have to agree, even with my twin scroll setup, 25lbs takes about 4300-4400 on a 2.3. Granted my turbo is slightly larget than a 35r but not by much.

We ran a 6262 on a 2.3L we did here on an employees car and no lie it felt just shy of FP Red like Spool.. The spool was near instant.. The top end was strong right to 8500 also..

ugh, again many posts- sorry that i could not log in during the weekend. So yeah I could have mentioned that I prefer a bolt-on turbo to a external wastegated one. Saying this I still would go for a garrett if I get proof that it is what I need. So to sum up right now I am thinking the Tomei ARMS or the FP-RED or a 3071R. To be honest I am a little affraid of the 3076R as I dont really believe that it could achieve 1.4-1.5 bar boost under 4k. If anyone has a dyno chart running a 3076r then please link that to this post- I would really appreciate that!

Today I took back the car to the tuner, we could finaly eliminate some fuel pressure problems caused by an old FP and a dissolved pipe. Interesting though that we could not achieve any more HP, but we gained a lot of low end torque.

The car is now running at 1.5 bar boost in the low-mid rpm area, and tapers out to 1.35 bar nearing 6k rev. I am really satisfied the results and I am aware that this little stock evo 9-16G turbo just cant do more.

see this chart:

Seriously, do not get a 3071R. It is not a significant enough improvement over stock to warrant the expense, let alone the performance issues. Give me some time, I'll put together a dynochart comparison for you of various turbo setups that I have compiled over the years.

Here you go, comparisons of various AMS turbo kits that I have compiled. I've also included one of my old stock turbo dynos, although that pull was in 4th gear, a 3rd gear pull would not have spooled quite that early. As you can see the 50trim pwned the 3071R in all aspects. The original AMS 35R kit on a 2.3 spools slightly earlier than my 50Trim on a 2.0 (I hit 24-25 psi by 3800 or earlier, depending on gear). Substitute an HTA3582R on the 2.3 and it should spool even earlier. Heck even on a 2.0, the HTA3582R isn't that far behind my old 50Trim setup and is actually spot-on where the 3071R used to spool up at. If I were to substitute a 3076R for my 50 trim, it should spool up the same and make a little bit more torque up top.

You now have as much data as I can give you in terms of roughly equivalent dyno plots. Hopefully this will help you to make an informed decision.

Good choice. The Precision 6062 and 6057 are also good choices, you could probably make 650-700whp with those.
