There is not such a thing as a dumb question.. I myself ask a lot of questions. To answer your question.. The Evo ECU can easily be modified with a program called ECU Flash. It is completely free.. you'll only have to pay for the cable that connects to your OBDII and laptop. However you don't want to be monkeying around with the ECU especially if you don't know what you're doing. I would contact a respected Tuner to help you on this venture.

You won't need to buy an engine management unless your aiming for 520whp and above.. The stock maf might cave in at those power levels, which equals buying an AEM or similar engine management system.

There are plenty vendors on here that do good tuning. I guess depending on where you live would be your best bet. I recommend, Kunizzee Tuning, Mellon, Jester Tuning, AMS. I've had good experiences with them all.
E85 blah blah. Not everyone has viable access to that goodness. On pump go...

Cosmetics...
Are you serious? Cosmetics on the list for best bang for the buck? I mean i know some c/f side spats add like 50hp but come on man...lol...

Get tuned, Exhaust...Or just follow the buschur upgrade sequence...Also call your local tuner...DTM which is less than a hour from you i believe...Dont worry about E-85 if you only want 350...Go boost controller, exhaust, air filter(perrin), tune and depending on the dyno you should be near 350...Also headstuds are a good thing to have if your gonna go over stock boost...Then you should have a boost gauge, Wideband gauge...And yes you can have your car tuned on a stock ECU...

Stock intake pipe is good enough to max out stock turbo. Changing it without a tune can cause headaches. Might just be best to go with a Vibrant MAF adpater and an open filter from Perrin, Amsoil or something equivalent.

Exactly. I go to DTM for all my work. E85 isn't what you need right now. Check your pm's.

i eventually want to go over 400. but i havent had the car for a week yet and i plan on ordering everything this week just to get started so i say 350 is good enough for now. then i want wheels and exterior cosmetics. i figure i will need a clutch once i get above 350?

Depending on how you drive, you'll need a clutch. If you can put down 350 on a mustang dyno, youll be very happy. Im still looking for more, but im putting down 321/315 on a mustang dyno and i cant stop smiling every time i drive it.

these E85 guys are high.

11's on a fuel change..no thanks. be a realist...not a optimist when is comes to your evo.

dont get me wrong, they take very well to mod's, but not that much. I am in your area, send me a pm. If you want fun, all you need is a MBC, exhaust, 255, and intake (cams if you want more fun).

10's on e85 (with bolt ons)?? please tell me jesus will give a gold star for doing so.

now you will want to look into a clutch eventually if you plan to drive your car the way it was meant to be driven.

Give Nick @ DTM a call, he will steer YOU in the direction YOU want to go. he is of the very highest caliber in the evo industry.

cliffs, you need a nick tune.
