Time Attack + DD Engine Build Help!
Hi All.
Basically, I have been looking at rebuilding for a while now. After considering all different options from 2.3L, 2.4L, 2.2L, I think I have actually decided on a built 2.0L. I have come to this conclusion for a number of reasons..
#1 - Instead of looking for a cheap stroker kit, why not invest more money into quality componants for a 2.0L
#2 - As im looking to track the car, I believe the revvy nature of a built 2.0L would suit my needs
#3 - Its easyer to tune the stock ECU so I can run pump fuel of a day and E85 on the track.
I would really like to run the static CR over 9.0:1 for this motor as I REALLY want fantastic throttle responce, and I want to make more power with less boost. It will also be better for when I go to E85, as I can get even more power out of the motor without winding up the boost.
The motor NEEDS to be reliable, responsive not to mention, if I wanted to, I could swap to a GT3076R and get alot more topend without running crazy boost levels and without giving me too much lagg..
Tell me what you guys think of the below setup..
Bottom End
OEM 88mm Mitsubishi Crank - Knife Edged / Lynished / Balanced
Carrllio Pro-H Conrods
Custom 86mm JE Pistons (9.0:1 CR)
Clevelite Crank & Rod Bearings
ARP Main Bolts
AMS Race Balance Shaft Removal Kit
AMS Head Stud Kit
Hot Tanked, Blue Printed, 0-Decked Block
Head
Head Port + Polished
Ferrera 1mm Oversize Valves
GSC/Kiggly Beehive Valve Springs + Ti Retainers + Improved Valve Seats
Powertrain
Evo 9 RS - Short/Close Ratio 5 - Speed
Im currently making 300hp @ 22psi with these current modifications, which will all carry over for now..;
*GTPumps TD06-20GLT
*Kelford 272's & Fidanza Adjustable Camgears
*HKS EVC 6
*Trust Intercooler
*Custom 3" Turbo Back Exhaust
*Custom Intercooler Piping
*AVO Suction Pipe
*Custom Airbox & Apexi Pod Filter
*Evo 8MR BOV

If you want a DD for time attack a stroker seems a logical choice seeing as your goals for the car.
Depending on track configurations the 30r might run outta steam so you might look for something to better suit your needs.
Not knowing your budget I cant really say. Buschur 2.3 stroker will definitely be reliable as well as responsive.

i can see the following causing a bottleneck in your system:
1. airbox - go with an intake as u increase boost.
2. MR BOV will start leaking under high boost applications.
3. if u got the $$ swap turbos for a BBK full - spool is amazing and deliver power of a FP Green.

^ I already have an intake. And I swapped out from my GSR BOV to the MR BOV as it is more suited to higher boost applications, as it has a heavier spring and is made out of metal unlike the GSR one...
If I have the money, I would be goign larger then the 20G I wouldnt swap a 20G for a 20G...
