it's still there..Haven't found out what it was..I still drive it as i would any other day just not as often..It does get annoying. I'm itching to get this diagnosed soon cause it's really getting on my nerves. I miss driving it rattle/zinging free.

Any shop in the Northeast willing to check it out/diagnose it ? Most shops around here charge stupid fee's to get it checked. I mean come on, it takes 5 seconds for me to rev it and let you hear it. Help me out here.

I'd say it's the balance shaft pulley 180* out. Thing's counterweighted so it's very easy for this to happen when the timing belt is off or too much slack is allowed down there if the person doing the cams took the shortcut route. But you say that's been deleted right?

Nothing has been deleted. That may very well be the problem. I will just have to take your suggestion/diagnosis to a reputable shop in the very near future and see what they have to say.

Can you work on your own car??? Pull the timing cover it only requires a 10mm socket, a 10mm wrench, and a 1/4 breaker bar.

Check the balance shaft and oil pump pulley. Why else would it happen after springs and retainers install? You gotta take the timing belt off. Its not the manifold and its doubtful its the springs unless they are defective.

With no balance shafts you will have more engine vibration so anything loose or hitting something will sound. It could be anything, you are just going to have to search it out. I'd look at the obvious first, like the exhaust.
