Are you talking about the thing that keeps you from putting it in two gears at once in the selector ?

You have to be if you can move the gear shift sideways into another gear.

uhhhh...i don't think so... did you see the vid i posted? the second one...thats what it does, 1st gear goes in but it doesnt engage the gear all the way...

I can't drive it, 1st gear wont engage all the way so i dont want to burn my clutch out, and i cant put it in second gear...third gear and up works i think, but im def not gonna drive it i dont wannt mess anything else up.

it started after i got my new clutch in, but the shop i used to take it to, said this happened to them and it was fixed when they replaced this part, but he doesnt know the NAME of the part....and the dealership is pretty much telling me to talk to the hand...so im trying to figure out a way to get my hands on this f'in part so i can drive again

and yeah i guess it is what ur talking about....

Yeah tomorrow. I would call Jacks and explain that you can push your selector lever from 1st gear, sideways into 3rd. Or 3rd's position anyway, and that it then makes it impossible to then move the selector into 2nd gear. Tell them you recently had the clutch replaced and that the place who did it said that it happens sometimes from not being careful? (Which is kind of horrible actually.) Prepare for a small lecture.

You could call Shep just the same I'm sure. But either one of them will probably be able to tell you what is wrong, order the part, or give you a P/N. So you can get it.

I'm not a transmission guy. I don't even pretend to be. So I immediately refer to those who ARE. And just do what they tell me to do.

It's possible that someone connected the shifter cables backwards, although they'd have to be more than half-retarded to pull that move off.
