DV turned backwards..

So quick question real fast guys. I've searched but didn't find anything on this. So the guy that owned the car before me turned the dv backwards to change how it sounds. Could this do anything to hurt my car? I'm getting rid of the stock dv anyways but i'll wait a little while and do other stuff to my car first unless its doing bad things to my car

well does it not flutter?? im sure its causing alot of compressor surge..

When turbochargers operate in surge for long periods of time, bearing failures may occur. When referencing a compressor map, the surge line is the line bordering the islands on their far left side.
Compressor surge is when the air pressure after the compressor is actually higher than what the compressor itself can physically maintain. This condition causes the airflow in the compressor wheel to back up, build pressure, and sometimes stall. In cases of extreme surge, the thrust bearings of the turbo can be destroyed, and will sometimes even lead to mechanical failure of the compressor wheel itself.

I've had a friend that did that by accident and he thought it was cool cause he said it sounded like a supra,

but I told him its bad for the turbo and all it does is flutter like an aftermarket bov which is the compressor surge

so to answer you question, no its not good for the turbo and yes its causing potential damage to the turbo

You can do this with some valves and it will help. Depends on the design of the valve to be honest.

Bwahahaha!

OP: Don't do it! The OEM plastic valves are junk, but the oem METAL valves off of the 8 MR's and IX's are fantastic. Lots of us running 30psi on them untouched.
