You are welcome, I wish somebody else would have done this before I did my MBC installation It's kind of neat to figure out everything and all, but it was pretty scary trying to adjust the MBC hooked in backwards
BTW, It's still working fine at this time. We are experiencing some fairly cold weather these days and the MBC is holding boost within 1 pound of the initial setting...... Oh yeah, the car sure does run strong with 40° F charge temps

so according to the sketch provided by Silver (Thanks BTW)...you completely remove the stock hoses both from the wastegate and the turbo. The reason why i ask, is because i just spent 1 hour hooking up my WORKS P2 upgraded boost line and I still want to install a Hallman MBC (b/c i am getting really bad spiking). So this means i will have to remove the WORKS boost line completely???

Unfortunately I cannot opine on the WORKS setup because I'm completely ignorant about it I wish I knew what it all entails and how to make it work, etc.

I can surmise from my experience and from what I've read that boost spikes and other similar traits can often be traced to incorrect hook-up of MBCs. I guess (emphasis on guess) that if you want to add a MBC to your setup, you should do it according to the sketch and instructions (separate posts) that I provided. Those seem to work well for the AMS MBC that I have ........ Mybe you could try contacting the folks at WORKS and asking them for their advise/opinion. Still, nothing is a good to me as a sketch or photos along with clear written instructions....

Good luck

I think the pictures in the link you have represent the same thing that my sketch does..... That's what I mean about instructions being difficult to fathom sometimes. I'm an engineer and was a drafstman for many years (before CAD....I'm pretty old ).
Anyway, I understand a drawing like I did muche easier than photos or written instructions. Of course, others are much more comfortable with the written words and photos...... Now we have it all

silverEVO8 you are the man!! The drawing is perfect and the instructions that came with my Hallman Pro RX Kit helped also.

But the drawings made it totally clear,by the way I capped off the boost solonoid nipples didnt want any dirt in there...

Man MBC is awesome, took me about 6 pulls in daytime and got it to a perfect 1.35 bar and holds rock solid,NO VARIATION,teeing off at BOV feed is perfect............turbo spools in my guess 25% faster, the needle on my boost guage shoots up so much faster ..

The pull is awesome and getting the dynoflash this weekend to compliment my MBC...

By the way I installed my MBC through the top, just took out the stock air box, since I have small hands it was easy to reach everything.

The kit and the company www.boostcontrollers.com is awesome and totally recommend the new MBC's with ceramic ball.

Side note....Since it was cold out tonight coming home from work boost shot up to about 1.4 bar, thats the only variation but I was expecting it,since it was pretty cold the boost shot up a bit more....Thanks again for the clear diagram

Thanksguys sorry for grammer ,runons etc........

just jumping on here at the end, this is the way Turbo XS reccomends. like the other guy. i would think it would not make a difference since both will have near equal boost pressure. maybe each MBC is setup to work one way or the other. here is the instructions for my very simple picture and easy to install. I did it from the bottom and if you dont want to take anything off. its just jack up the car, or I used a lift and drop off that plastic skid plate and switch hoses. didnt have to take any part of the car off. small hands help but just the right tools like a long needle nose and its a cinch. I will post pics of mine soon.

wait your PSI is one boost from your setting? thats not good... for example if you have stock fuel pump but you hit 20 psi, you can start heating things up real quick...especially in the cold weather... did anyone else get such PSI change? i thought weather change or other variable only make .5 PSI difference... maybe i should get electronic boost controller then

not sure what you mean Mifesto
most people set the boost at 19.5 or 20 or even 21, there is always some boost spikes but usualy drop down fast and maintains steady until the very end of the RPM or in 5th gear some boost creep. weather changes can jump it more than .5 most see 1 or even 2 but that less frequent. the main thing is after the initial setup you should monitor it for a while until you see with all weather conditions where you are set at. you dont need a better fuel pump just for MBC but if you increase your mods and hitting the 400hp range some say even the 350hp to be safe then upgrade the fuel pump. usually boost creep will drop you down. if you can be more specific i will give my view and what my car is doing.

yes i have hear from AL that the HKS EBC is very nice and will eliminate all boost spike . but its pricey. i think if you want you can set your MBC to a slightly lower setting and limit your spike to what ever you want .even the OEM has boost spike that the problem would spike up then drop down low 16-17 psi. with your new one will keep you closer to 18-19 or more if you want . you will have to see if you boost spike ever gets up high mine pretty much max at 21 for millisec then 20 down to 19 quick holds 19 almost all the time. you can just set your to 19 then limit any spike over 20. most people feel the turbo and motor is good for 23 with good tune and good gas. i want some safety net so i left it at 20max. just stays there better now. hook up your boost gauge and drive for a while note where you car runs. I had mine on for over 1 week before i got my gauge so now its nice to see it stay up longer and boost sooner and faster.

Ive seen my totally stock evo boost up to 1.5 bar for half a second then go back to 16-17 psi, so you will almost always have some spiking in my opinion ...

Thats why I love my peak hold greddy guage,my manual MBC doesnt spike as much as stock...only abouy 1 psi.

still working rock solid

first hose to remove is the wastegate not to bad and if you have long needle nose pliers even easier.
