Clutch seized!

Okay so my car was sitting in gear for 3 wks, when i turned the car on it instantly jerked forward. I pulled it out of gear, cycled through the gears without the clutch pressed in and i flowed perfectly. It wont go into gear while the car is on, it has a normal clutch pedal feel when i press it in. the slave looks like its moving in and out about 2 inches. It is an excedy twin disk with about 26k on it i dont launch the car, and very rarely do i get on it, i dont bang through gears like a maniac ethier. please help me !

thanks a lot!

^if the pressure plate retainer fell off his pedal would go straight to the floor and not come back up.

I think he means the metal clip that's on the pressure plate itself. Pull off the rubber bung on the underside of the bell housing and feel around inside.

put the car in gear not running and have someone push the clutch in while you rock the car back and forth. It is a twin disk clutch and the floater plate is probly stuck in the middle from sitting. Should be able to jar it free. you could even try putting it in gear and trying to start the car while you hold the clutch and brake down.

Your floater plate is warped and its time to replace clutch parts.

the fact that i left it gear is the reason why the clutch has to be replaced?

A piece of the friction material may have come off a driven plate and now is wedged. This would cause the clutch to be always engaged.
