aftermarket oil sump

When building a new engine, how important is it to use an aftermarket oil sump. Will the oem sump perform just fine? I was looking at the AMS sump and oil scraper, they are nice pieces but money could be spent elsewhere.

what are you plans for the car?

the only time i would consider the ams pan a necessity would be if you are going to heavily track (roadrace) your car as it will help reduce oil starvation in sweeping right handers. if you are going to track the car a lot you should look into an accusump also.

Plans are just a fun ~550hp street car. Occasional drag. I'll put the pan towards the bottom of my list now.

Thanks for the reply.
