Methanol Affecting Wideband ???
Methanol Affecting Wideband ???
I've been collecting parts all year and finally have some time of off work so I am now going to start the build...
I'm installing the wideband next week, and have a quick question. I seem to remember reading somewhere that when you are running methanol the WB o2 sensor should be further down the exhaust system than the normal downpipe set up. Now I don't remember where I read this and after searching I couldn't find it... I'm not running meth at the moment but due plan to eventually down the line.
So my question is, should I move the o2 sensor further down the exhaust knowing I may run meth? Thanks in advance for the help guys

Most people meth or not put the wb sensor on the end of the downpipe 32"-36" from the turbo at 12 o' clock position. Been running meth on the same wb for 4 yrs with no accuracy or durability issues.
Not directly, however unburned meth is like water. It may condense on the sensor glowing red hot ceramic element and cause damage. Not to mention higher EGTs.
