False Knock? Weird symptoms
Hello All,
I have been battling a couple knock symptoms that I just cant see being real, but I'm also looking for some advice.
Deatils:
2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.4L with 100K miles. 5 Speed
HY35 Running 15PSI on stock block. Tial 38MM WG and Greddy BOV
Evo 560 injectors, AEM wideband, meth kit, boost gauge, ACT 6 Puck sprung clutch
So, I have 2 areas with knock, right when the boost comes on, around 3000-3500RPM and its random. I can be in 4th and it pulls great around 3500. Then I'll go from second at a light and it'll knock at 3000-3500 with half throttle.
The other sections is 4th gear at 4000-5000RPM. I have seen knock counts around 4-10. My timing was 5-6 in this range so i bumped it down to 0-1 and it still knocks the same amount no change, other then a loss in power and it feels almost like the car now cuts out/shudders at this higher RPM.
2 sets of BKR7ES gapped from 0.22-0.3 with no change.
I threw in a gallon of Methanol mixed with about 6-7 Gallons of 91 to see if there was any change and so far my knock counts are in the exact same places and around the same. Before I up the Knock sensor settings I'm wondering what you all think.
This has been bothering me for a very long time and any help would be great.
