Is it neccessary to o-ring head??

Hey guys I'm running a stock block and making close to 500whp on methanol. I've tried using the search function but can't find the info I'm looking for.

I plan on doing drop in piston and rods next to keep the motor in one piece.

Is it necessary to o-ring the head? When does it usually become necessary?

I plan on boosting 30-33 psi on a hta3076 along with methanol and shooting for 550whp.

Thanks

With that amount of boost it is not necessary. ARP headstuds are all you need.

Better yet who has reached the point of failure and was it resolved withe o-ring'ed head? At what whp and boost did the headgasket fail.
