I'm on the fence with this one. I believe that Buschur clears the factory "ties" but does it have the O2 bung-bobber?

This is the RMR. It doesn't clear the factory ties.

I thought their page says it does http://www.buschurracing.com/cgi-bin....cgi?18X376545 Originally posted by mrdecibel

buschur clears the stock bars assuming you use the spacers they provide. It's no big deal, it took 5 minutes taking them off and putting them back on.

They really are for different owners. The Buschur will not work with the stock cat at all, only their high flow cat or test pipe. RMR's will work with the stock cat and is a direct bolt replacement for the stock DP (except for clearing the crossbars). Though RMR does sell a fairly inexpensive crossbar which looks pretty nice that seems to clear all the downpipes.

FWIW, I got the RMR downpipe and catback, plus the replacement tie bar so I could use either the stock cat or put in a test pipe. I was also a bit concerned about how noisy the Buschur system is. I've never heard it, but the Buschur system on my 1G DSM is too noisy for my taste (can't comfortably listen to the radio when cruising to the race track). I was concerned their Evo system would be similar.

Neither does the factory downpipe. If they are designed properly, they don't need the flex section. Some claim "yeah but the factory system has a spring clamping system" All that is for is to deal with thermal expansion on an entirely different axis than the rest of the exhaust, making that argument irrelevant.Neither has a flex section. I have had the RMR DP for almost the entire time I've owned my car. No complaints, makes lots of power, bolts on in about 5 minutes. I purchased the lower cross-brace, too. If you saw the stock bars, you'd buy a replacement, too (Cusco, RMR, anything but stock). It has the 02 sensor bung (gotta love that word) and fits like a factory piece. In fact, the whole exhaust is built like that and has held up great.

Since everyone is on the subject of downpipes, does anyone have or know anything about the hks or apexi ones?

This is the HKS one and i have this on my car
Made big power and no noticeable torque loss
It clears the braces, is nice, shiny, and has really high quality flanges

Very nice HKS but no 3 inch pipe... So basically what has been posted most pipes that are 3 inches do not clear factory tie bars, i wonder if they fit with the Cusco bars...

does the hks downpipe bolt directly on w/out mods, and does it work well with the stick cat/highflow cat, and 3inch cat back. Or are there issues w/ a 2.5inch downpipe and 3inch exhaust?
