Boost spike after turbo, TBE and O2 Housing?
Boost spike after turbo, TBE and O2 Housing?
Hello!
I just recently picked up my car from the shop. They installed the Tomei turbo, tomei exhaust manifold, WORKS TBE, fuel pump and Invidia O2 housing.
I'm currently using the HKS EVC 6 boost controller and when I had the stock turbo, it would hold a consistent 16 psi till redline without any boost spike...gain was set to about 90. After getting the car back, I noticed that it would spike to about 19 psi and would taper back down to about 16 psi. After trying to adjust the gain, it would spike to about 16 psi and drop to 14 psi and below. It seems as if turn the gain up, it would hold 16 psi but spike to 19. If I were to turn the gain down it would spike to 16 but the boost would not hold. I'm going real easy on it now nothing crazy since I'm not tuned yet. I wanted to sort out the boost spike issue before I have it tuned. Any insight as to what could possibly be causing the spike? Could it be that the waste gate needs to be adjusted some? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
