HTA3076R installed... can I safetly boost to 13psi?

I installed a ETS HTA3076R turbo kit (coming from my stock IX turbo) and GSC S2 cams... Can I safetly boost to 13psi before getting my tune? I dialed out my MBC so that my wastegate opens at straight wastegate pressure (13psi)...

is this safe for a month until I get a tune?

That should be a fun turbo... But no offense... Why did you install the turbo when your not ready to properly support it or take it to get tuned??

Why chance damaging parts when your not ready to make sure is ready to drive?

I agree! But, If you drive your car normally and datalog it and your AFRs are 15-16 (Cruise) and you have 0 knock then ya I guess... That is clearly just dumb and a tune is only a couple hundred dollars. What is that compared to the money you spent on your turbo kit? Not very much! Worth blowing your motor? Prob not.

dont boost the car yet until u get a tune
you could risk damaging engine internal and that will cost you a bomb

I have a tune appointment at AMS but its not till early august because there is a long wait.

I know I need a tune, the car was tuned by AMS before the only thing that sucks being tuned by them is the wait for an appointment. They are also probably going to be doing my clutch (I got the exedy twin disc heavy duty)

I have a wideband in there and my AFRs looked pretty much normal like 14-15-16 during normal cruise and it dipped lower like 10-11 or so when i started to accelerate a little more.

I was just worried if I got into boost like say trying to accelerate on a highway and I don't want to be breaking things. I can drive my truck for a month it will kinda suck though. I just thought only wastegate pressure 13psi would be safe because I should have plenty of fuel for that.

when i had my hks gt3037s turbo kit i got a wastegate spring for 10psi which landed it according to the compressor maps right around the stock turbos boost. but 13psi on a hta turbo i'd set a rev limit of 5k or something. Temptation is deadly

The only other problem I am having is that the downpipe is hitting one of the support braces under the car even know we hammered them flatter with a sledgehammer (it creates a rattle)

And..

I have the motorcycle mini battery and when the idle dips I only get 9 inches or so of vacuum and the battery voltage gauge I have is showing a little dip to like high 13 volts or so.. The lights flicker just a tiny bit then. Chris will turn up my idle some right? It will no doubt idle smoother at higher rpms right?

Do a pull and watch your wideband. I ran around on 12 psi coming from my IX turbo to my 35R and my a/f's were flatlined so i was very rich, which im sure you will be too

Completely normal.

To coment on driving the car around untill August. I would not continually boost the car unless you have datalogged it to assure everything is in check.

If your gonna drive it out of boost the go for it.

Are your injectors installed yet??

I say get intouch with http://www.4WSTUNING.com and tune it now

no my injectors are not installed yet, because i dont have any way to scale the pulsewidth.

I have 1000cc injectors on my shelf.

I am getting a nasty rattle underneath it sounds like a knock. It goes away when I press that damn crossbrace against the downpipe. The downpipe and the crossbrace are rubbing sometimes.

I also am getting some vibrations from the idle, i think this is because of the gsc s2 cams because my idle isnt tuned yet. it kinda shakes the car some at idle, but it seems happy when im just cruising around town.

I am worried only because when i first put the turbo in we wanted to make sure everything is ok and i did a few pulls into boost the AFR looked pretty normal as when i was tuned before (actually even richer)

I did have a SUPER loose flange between the downpipe and turbo causing it to look really lean but after we tightened that clamp up it got much richer. I think a TON of air was sneaking into that flange making it to the wbo2 and making it think it was really lean.
