How reliable is the 2.3 vs a 2.0
How reliable is the 2.3 vs a 2.0
I am trying to decide on which route to go with my build. The turbo I'm going with is a hta3582 t4 twinscroll (1.06 ) and I already have kelford 272s and a skunk2 IM. The cars going to be driven both on the street and at the dragstrip. Need asome opinions on this.
i am not sure if this is true. I think the limitation on rev is more due to crank balance and rod length.
mroe displacement will correlate in low end torque and faster spooling. As mentioned, rev limit is usually sacrificed. both should be equally reliable.

well as far as the stroker i wasnt planning on reving it past 8k. the valve springs i have are the supertech single springs with ti retainers. Low end torque should be prettu fun on the street though especially with the twinscroll setup. Thanks for your comments guys

I can't see needing anything more than 8500rpms with your turbo selection - I would go 2.3... the 2.0 on the street and road course is just not a lot of fun - drag strip is another story, 2.0 for that application for sure.
Don't think it will help you at all but I had a 2.3 stroker in my car for a long time probably close to 20k miles from AMS and had no problem. I had a 50 trim with the 2.3 making 500 whp and 460's torque. Car was FANTASTIC.....
If I had my choice of engines though and they came out with when i was doing my engine. I would without doubt purchase the AMS 2.3RR motor.
If you are going to do a lot of drag racing then the 2.0 will be better suited but if you were like me and do mostly street driving with the occasional drag strip run then a 2.3 would be better suited for ya. in my own opinion of course

From what I have seen, the 2.0 are more reliable. The reason is 2.3's are not as reliable is because the pistons in a 2.3 seem to dig into the cylinder sidewall at more of an angle because of their longer rods/crankshaft. This causes them to wear quicker thus wearing out the motor more prematurely over a 2.0. Keep in mind I'm not saying 2.3's are not reliable.. but if you compare the two.. I believe the 2.0 is the more reliable engine because of this fact.
