I like the idea of the safety wire. Dozens of heat cycles and MOVEMENT will work that roll pin loose. As long as the wire is completely secure and there is nothing that could come into contact with it. Safety wire isn't used for just aviation. Good example would be most high-end 2 piece rotors have safety wire going through the dozens of bolts that hold the hat to the actual rotor; and that is the most critical piece of equipment on any vehicle.

Well I am in the aviation field and in the Navy, and we use safety wire on tons of things from screws on avionics gear for quality assurance to modules within a Jet turbine engine... I personally think it is a wonderful idea as long as there is a good place to anchor the other side of the safety wire... I can't see pics from photobucket at work...

Just because something isn't practiced routinely in the the EVO, DSM world does not mean its a half assed job.

double roll pining is a standard procedure on some Nissan transmissions.

you might want to go look out on TRE's website. They double roll pin shift forks, better go tell him he does a half assed job.

go sell your oil and e-thug somewhere else

do whatever you have to do man, double roll it , tripple roll it

remember those shops that build your tranny they have to think about material cost to turn more profit, we dont .

this is what we have the guys at mcmaster custome make for any of our mechanical assemblies. http://www.mcmaster.com/#

Remains flexible after installation so they absorb shock and vibration better than spring slottet pins.

Point is like another member said is shockproof lightweight or heavyweight should NOT be ran in the trans. MT90 is for that.
Oopppsss I was wrong, I apologize, it is MT90
....I went and checked my bottle

Either way, only because someone sells a fluid doesn't mean it is endorsed by someone else (the company making it). There are many shops etc that will run and use what they use because they are confident in their experience etc.... no meaning for ppl who will just sell you anything to make profit.....I would believe than they would sell/promote the most expensive fluids they could find.

In addition I'm not saying shops like shep or TRE are god, but you have to admit they have alot of experience where others may not.... and any failures do to a mission built (or any product for that matter) by someone doesn't prove much until you can prove the failure's cause. Its not like they are x-raying all parts and testing hardness etc etc...

for what it's worth... 6spd boxes use double roll pins, and I haven't heard of a failure yet..
