FP white vs. IX w/TME mag CW

How does spool, flow and max power compare between these turbos?
Here are a few variatons of the TME turbos, http://www.hopupracing.com/jdmtme65titu.html http://www.speedelement.com/index.ph...mart&Itemid=38
and the fp white, http://www.full-race.com/catalog/pro...oducts_id=2198 .
Not sure If I want to go larger than any of these turbos, and they arent a bad price. If I find out they dont flow like I was hoping then I might just get a BBK, or BBK lite, ahh another choice.
-- currently the car sees mostly autox duty, and occasionaly daily driver just so I dont drain the battery or flat spot the tires. I would like to eventually get back into tracking it on a road course though.

The white flows 10% more. I have one on my 2.3 and it spools hella quick. I would go with the bbk full if I was you.

If I was you, which you should probably be glad that I am not...then I would just get a BBK-Full given your stated application. Just order it standard from CBRD with the 10.5 housing and then beg Blouch Turbos to cut you a 9.0 turbine housing for Auto-X. Then you can just swap out the housings.

I think that the Lite and White are both kinda wimpy. Just my opinion. Why? Because both run the stock size inconel exhaust wheel.

Blouch won't do anything for the bbk unless we request it hee hee... No 9.8s sorry!!

And as for the lite not being worth much, we have made 417whp with it on our dyno on 93 :-)

let me know if I can help!

I stand corrected! So, Chad the BBK-Lite is the ticket for Auto-Xing then? Why is there no 9.8 availability for the BBK-Full. Not being argumentative...just curious?

To your knowledge has anyone "bastardized", or perhaps mixed and matched, is a better choice of words, a BBK-Lite by replacing the stock inconel turbine wheel with a Titanium turbine wheel off the TME, or JDM RS VIII turbos. This swap would not require any machining of the housing as the lighter weight wheel would bolt right up to the shaft.

The Lite is already insta-spool, I wouldn't waste time and money messing with it.

Thats exactly why Im leaning towards the bbk lite. Im not looking to break hp records, but rather a well rounded setup that will help me accelerate out of a turn. My car is mostly used for autox.

Not quite insta-spool. I think that it spools about like a stock IX turbo. My old JDM VIII RS TiAl turbo spooled to 25# by 2800 RPM even with HKS 280 cams.

I am not hating. I think that the Lite maybe just exactly the turbo that the OP is looking for. Although me I'd slap a 9.8 housing on it for auto-x, and then when you get tired of that you could just upgrade the turbine wheel to BBK-Full configuration with a 10.5.

Me personally i like tinkering with the housing configurations on my turbos. I don't understand Chad's taboo on offering optionally sized housings either.

On my Tial RS turbo I ran the original 9.8 factory housing at first. Then I swapped it for a 10.5. Later with my old school Green I ran a 9.0, a 9.8 and then finally a fully ported 10.5. To me each housing is at best a compromise and there is always a tradeoff. You just have to optimize for your particular application.

I think that for auto-x a 9.8 housing on a BBK-Lite would be worth a try. It would make it spoolup better. That's just my opinion though.
