I also went with Moddiction and it has workef ouy really well for me. Weighs over a pound!

 

It says they are made out of steel. Does the coating help keep it cooler than steel during the summer sun?

 

it gets warm parked out in the sun. that i know.

I have not had it in the summer heat/sun yet. I got it a few months ago. but I would bet my left nut its gonna get hot.

 

It was 98 here yesterday, went out to my car and it felt like an oven. I will say that the knob was hot, but not unbearably hot. I could still grip it without burning my hands. Whereas with the aluminum shift knob (interior sport package) it would literally burn my hand. The textured coating helps A LOT!!!

Also, in the cold, it doesn't get NEAR as cold as the aluminum one either.

The company flossy knob has spherical ones and they do custom engraving. I actually just ordered one because I have been trying to find the blox 490 spherical for months but no body has them. Definitely take a look at flossy if you want a heavy spherical knob, plus they can engrave virtually anything
