need some help from a pro. broke tensioner bolt!
It would be nice if there was an extra long easyout so I wouldnt have to take anything off to get to the broken piece itself. most are just a little too short to reach the bolt without being to large a diameter. Once I remove the oil filter housing and access the tming cover a little better, then any easyout should do just fine. just trying to avoid that if at all possible.
Just reviving this thread. i just had this issue with the lock bolt (smaller 12 bolt on the right of the main tensioner 14 bolt) but more seems like the bolt was stretched as I used a regular rachet to tighten it before torquing it and it spun free... without any heavy pulling...
but don't have the tools or a mech here to get it out as most of the threads are way inside the filter housing as well.
My solution so far was to get a stainless steel large threaded size 14 bolt about 1.5 inches long and slowly thread it through... making its own threads as it is slightly oversized... got it in about 1.25 in and so far so good... haven't had a problem boosting or anything.
Temporary measure yes but it may have to be temporary for some time...
