Better Fuel pump with no whine?

Ok So I have a walbro 255 on my Evo and I'm getting sick and tired of this Fuel pump making my car sound like a POS. The Whine has got to go, no matter what.

So with that said, does anyone recommend a Fuel pump that is comparable to the walbro but doesnt have the Dumb whine?....

Get another walbro. Some whine like a*****, some don't. They do get louder over time, that's a fact.

I too have been unhappy with the whine, but it is taking a back seat (no pun intended) to the exhaust drone...

A few things I have considered: (1) going back to the stock fuel pump and larger injectors, (2) using the Bosch fuel pump - I believe it is the 040 model, and (3) I have been told there is a Denso pump that works as well....

Come on dude, the whine is pimp. It's like having a lumpy exhaust note, just they sign of power......but as for a solution too your problem....just turn your stereo up, or put ear plugs in.

Get a new Walbro; I had a really loud one, replaced it, now its nice and quiet. Depending on your power goals though, a stock IX pump is actually quite capable. They've safely gone beyond 300whp on an AWD Dyno Dynamics dyno which would be about 350whp on an AWD Dynojet dyno with stock injectors.

You love the loud exhaust but hate a little whine from a fuel pump? I can't even hear my fuel pump but it helps when you can't hear yourself think either, LOL

Full Blown made a kit that used the Supra pumps, as I recall.

It shouldn't be that hard to wire up a Supra pump. Supra pumps are easy enough to wire into DSM's as are Evo pumps so they have to be somewhat similar.

I wasn't able to find it on their website. But if a company did make a kit for the evo I would yank out the walbro in the car right now so I can run a supra pump

Evo pumps are 38mm in diameter. Supra pumps are 50mm in diameter. They won't fit in the molded plastic Evo fuel pump housing. That's the problem with trying to use the Supra pump unless you go to some aftermarket housing, like the Full Blown one.
