I had problems coming in and out of gears the Clutch ( carbonetix esp. when hot). It wasn't releasing. It did originally but after a bit of wear it was grabbing while just a hair off the floor, and locking up at 1/4 way up. I adjusted the petal, but had to make the adjustments an the tranny fix it.

Does it do it in the other gears? I believe it could be your syncro aswell.

Only in 1st gear.I have no problem going to 1st gear but shifting out of 1st is a pain. You have to time it just right otherwise its really hard shifting out of 1st gear.My clutch pedal is adj to the max almost.

where does it pick up at? it's sounding like the syncro or the gear itself if it's only 1st!

Just hard to get out of first or to put into 2nd? Could be syncros, TOB, disc, forks, or the gear. Need more info.

Adjust the pedal all the way up to it doesn't engage the clutch even. Then readjust it down to its correct. If too low, it could also do that.

, yeah but like I was saying usually it'll do it in all gears, which leads me to believe it's a transmission problem not a clutch problem.

It is actually hard to push the shifter or just hard to get it to catch into the gear. If it's hard to push you probably damaged the syncro hub and or slider (sleeve) and syncro ring for 1st gear. If it's hard to catch it into gear, you probably damaged the gear and syncro and slider and syncro ring.

It's hard to get out of first gear but everthing else is fine. Feels like the clutch is still engaged.

I'd have to say you damaged the hub and ring on 1st gear.

In theory yes it would do it all the time.. but there could be a chance that it might not stick 100% of the time, depends on a lot of small factors.

Btw I think you meant hub and spring (or ring) The gear itself is probably fine, only way the gear is usually bad is if the gear was grinding, and in that case the sysncro and syncro slider would also be trashed. What I've seen with the hub is if you jam the gear shifter hard enough the syncro slider can gouge the mating splines on the hub, then it digs into the syncro spring also and the slider hangs up on them and causes this type of problem in only that gear. If it was a clutch problem.. you would almost always see the problem in every gear. How does the shifter feel when the car is off? If it drags or is hard then.. I garantee it's not your clutch.

This type of problem is even more prone on cars that have had the hubs "polished" during a tranny rebuild like many vendors offer.
