Should i do gsc s1 cams not sure !

Well I said i was keeping my 06 mr stock, two weeks later and I have the following.

AMS TBE
Greddy Boost controller
K&N cone intake
Lower IC pipe
AMS FMIC
Megan o2 housing
High pressure fuel pump.

I was considering adding cams to the list, however I am not sure this is the best path for myself and the car. I do not plan on upgrading the turbo, so would i really see much gains from the GSC S1 cams ? Also will i lose my stock ideal, and smoothness. Anyways any suggestions would be good, my main concern is that there is to much gains to be had with cams unless you are upgrading other parts.

S1s worked great on my 8. Idle was fine after raising the idle set point and adding a little timing. Good power gains throughout the powerband. But with a 9, I wonder if a little Mivec tuning (which I know nothing about) could get you some cam like results without the labor.

I would sit tight with the stock cams for a bit. Try one of the more aggressive MIVEC maps posted in the ECU FLASH sub-forum. Do all of your bolt-ons and then get a good tune.

Until you either go with a bigger turbo or start running on E85, I think the stock cams will be sufficient, and certainly are the best value, on an IX.

Stock cams seem to do real well with the stock turbo I would hold back on the cams and wait till you upgrade your turbo for s1's
