fp race manifold. should i buy?? ALSO NEED ADVICE ON CAMS

hi fp has a sale going on their fp race manifold for $249. Is this a good upgrade to my car?? im planning on upgrading turbo to a fp green or red.

car: evo 9 MR
Mods:
AMS EXHAUST
AMS TEST PIPE
AMS FMIC
AMS LOWER/UPPER PIPES
WALBRO PUMP
RC 1000CC
ARP HEASTUDS
GRIMSPEED MBC
K&N CONE INTAKE
GSC S1 CAMS
TUNED 91 OCT 286WHP ON DYNO DYNAMICS

OK I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT MY CAMS COMPARED TO S2. I WAS TOLD THAT IF I WOULD OF INSTALLED S2 INTEAD OF S1 I WOULD OF SEEING MORE GAINS? AT LEAST A 15-20 WHP. I WAS A LIL DISAPPOINTED WITH THE NUMBERS. IS IT WORTH SWAPPING CAMS FOR S2?? SORRY FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS

If you are going to get a turbo as well, get the entire bundle. http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...tegory_Code=SP

Honestly, Im still running a stock mani that is ported with no issues. Making around 650whp. I dont see a major need to have this. The larger runners will make sure turbo a little more laggy but reduce heat. The smaller stock running help the turbo spool and create more heat. There's a trade off.

You may be able to get some cam gears and dial in the cams to get better gains from them. But yes, S1 cams are mild. You would also see better gains with a larger turbo with S2's installed. I would see what you can get out of the S1's before you go to larger cams.

I have tested the FP race manifold off and on since its release. It is a legit piece and definitely better than a ported stock manifold. I dont believe in a header for a stock or stock appearing turbo but the FP mani works. S2s will make more power out the top but the midrange will be roughly the same. What does a stock Evo make on that dyno?

OK SO I WILL DEFINITELY NEED THE S2 FOR THE BIGGER TURBO.

SHOP TOLD ME STOCK EVOs MAKE AROUND 210-215whp

Do you have any dyno graphs of the gains of a stock ported v/s the FP? Also, what were the gains? Spool time, tq, hp etc...?

I contemplated buying one but couldn't justify the $450+ it was when they came out.

We have had 3 cars make over 400whp on 92 octane alone and a stock turbo. One had the ETS header and one had the FP race manifold. The other car (my car) is a built 2.4 with electric waterpump so its a little atypical. On a 2.4 FP Black car we saw a 40whp gain but there was some boost creep that was part of the reason.

Thats similar to my build. What power was it making and at what boost level?

Mine creeps quite a bit. Sometimes up to 40psi. Probably due to the internal wastegate. I may go to the SS housing down the road.

The FP Black made 568 at 29psi on pumpgas. It was running 29psi in the meat of the powerband and was up from 528 at 28psi on a ported stock manifold.

My Evo IX made 444.44whp @ 29psi on STRAIGHT 92 on a stock IX turbo.

The FP manifold is legit.

Both cars run GSC R2 camshaft sets.
