The TOB (brand new OEM Mitsu TOB) keeps popping off the pressure plate. Time to yank the tranny again and get a new clutch installed.

you need the turbotrix clutch fork stop or put more wave washers in.

I have 3 wavy washers already; something on the PP is improperly machined out of spec so none of the band-aid fixes are what I need

Just rev match the shift, you dont even need to use the clutch except for take off.

Awesome, thank you, I do know how to drive and limped the car over 1,000 miles to get it home. I'm sure as hell not going to leave my car in this state though and drive it like its a broken down POS for the rest of its life. Would make daily driving, sitting in traffic, and autocross quite difficult.

This sucks. I just installed a competition stage 3 with an OEM throwout bearing. I did it myself and I sincerely hope I don't have to do that again. **crosses fingers**

I just spoke with Comp and they're willing to send out a revised replacement and cover all labor charges with MAP. These failures suck, but I definitely have to commend the company for standing behind their products and doing what it takes to make things right with their customers.

Rev match does nothing. The problem is caused when shifting aggressively and releasing the clutch pedal fast. When this happens, the clutch fork over-returns past its point and releases the clip... This is why people recommend a clutch fork stop. There are 2 solutions to the problem. One a clutch fork stop or a push type clutch.

If someone removes the clutch restrictor from the slave cylinder this is more than likely to happen. Exedy recommends removing the restrictor so the clutch will not wear out prematurely and installing a clutch fork stop or a push conversion. I went with the cheaper ttr clutch fork stop with my exedy twin.

More info here.

Hope this helps kracka.

How does the clutch restictor pill affect this condition?

The original purpose of the restrictor pill is to limit the driver from launching by forcing the slave to not return the clutch fork so fast. So when you remove it, the clutch will return faster and cause the over returning action that I mentioned in the thread above.

Imagine if you don't have the restrictor you could launch a ton harder than with the restrictor in. Same thing when shifting.
