S1 guys your input please.

When you installed your S1's , did you feel anything off the bat on the butt dyno?
I had my tuner check out my tune and he said the fuel is a little rich, but not too horrible and peak timing is like 13* on pump. (what I had before on stock cams)
Just for some reason this thing does not feel any faster, if anything feels slower IMO.
Any ideas?
I guess Im gonna check for another boost leak test. Seems its hitting the load values it should from what I know. Im hitting like 260 load values on 25psi area.
I did an IM spacer while I was in there too.

When I installed my S1's I had the car tuned for the cams right away. The first couple of pulls in the early stages of tuning were not a whole lot different but Tamer (4WS Tuning) wasn't tuning for power yet. As soon as everything was ready and Tamer started to make the power happen I could really notice the difference. The top end power isn't a big change but mid range power was really different. I am tuned to 25psi and I saw mid-range power increase 30-35whp and pike power was about 12-15whp increase. If you haven't been tuned for the cams I would say get a good tune and you will be happy with the results.

Do you know what kinda of timing your running? Like I said, its a little on the rich side, but Im not gonna make the big power on fuel. Unless timing can be bumped in the mid range more, i dont think im gonna get a whole lot more up top with pump

BTW, Im on a Green with all supporting mods.

I wish I knew. I left all those details to Tamer. I haven't spent the time to learn all the tuning details as of yet. Sorry I couldn't help more.

When i put Cosworth M2's and a MEgan 02 housing i didnt feel any difference....maybe a bit in the midrange. Pump gas and cams arent going to do alot on stock turbo. Stock cams and stock turbo work perfect together.

The reason why people usually feel a difference is because before they put the cams in they never actually had their car tuned before. So its usually the tune from the stock ecu flash that feels stronger.

I guess thats true. If they werent tuned before.
I am not on the stock turbo though. I am on a Green.
I am working with my tuner a little more on emailing datalogs back and forth. Ill see what we come up with. I just thought this was going to be an earth shattering mod from how people on here talk.

I know...you should have a little better results with a green...maybe coulda gone with the S2's since the s1's aren't really that aggressive. i rock the cosworth m2's on pump with stock turbo...hopefully they come alive on 110 with a FP red and other mods.

my s1's pull all the way to redline, hard....of course i have the red....but i had the red installed before the cams, and after the cams were installed and retuned i could feel a big difference, especially in the mid to top end range

There really is no reason that you shouldn't feel a diff with a good tune. Keep working with your tuner. If you don't feel anything after working with your tuner than you should try a different tuner. I'm not trying to put down any tuner but with S1's installed you should feel a sizable diff in the mid-range. Just my 2 cents.

when i put in my s1's went from 274 to 286 with out changing anything in my map except for lowering the timing where i got a lil knock. when i finished tune i got 306 at the same boost level i.e. 19psi which wasn't that bad for a novice tuner like me. the car pulled significantly different from about 4k to the redline. i'm on stock turbo as well and i can say these S1's were my most powerful mod. cheak it out below (sorry for the poor quality of the photo)

k thanks guys.
Was just curious as to how noticable these should be. Im just going by some quick datalogs I have. I didnt really give him a good pull to start with either.
Im gonna try a few more logs and see if this thing starts feeling different after some more tweaks

yea it was deff tune related it seems.
i sent him a better datalog yesterday and he modded quite a few other things I asked about and this thing pulls like a raped ape now.
I bumped the boost for $h1ts and giggles too and i am actually kind of impressed with this car now.
Still a little rich up top, but its significant over what it was yesterday
