4g64 help
4g64 help
Hey guys I've been a long time lurker, but haven't really post, but I need some help now, I've searched and searched and haven't really found a clear answer.
Anyway I have a 3rd Gen Eclipse 4g64, just purchased a 4g63 head. I've got the head on, and from what I've read (and what I need verification on) is; A)use the 94 Galant timing belt with adjustable cam gears and adjust the cams to (IIRC) -4 on both intake and exhaust cams.
However from the thread on club3g, one guy DNS-EN said he was able to use the stock evo belt, and cam gears. So I'd like to hear about what you guys have done, I know there is a lot of hearsay, but I don't have money to keep blowing on what "supposedly" works.
Also, I'm not sure about the evo, but my starter sits in the front, and I have clearance issues with my starter to the turbo (tried to fit on a stock evo 8 mani and turbo). I don't know if you guys EVEN use the 4g64 block. Most the threads I've read (one of which is a sticky) everyone is using the 63 block with 64 crank.
Thanks in advance guys.
Steve

well it seems like I'll be able to use an EVO timing belt, it's a bit too tight from what I've read, however no one seems to know how the timing marks line up to make up for the extra deck height.
As far as the turbo goes, it seems like 1st Gen manifold, adapter plate, and extension all welded up into one piece will clear the starter, however I'm not 100% sure, this seems like it's going to be the course of action though
