I will be upgrading to the new 80mm housing. (FP just shipped the new housing yesterday)
But I won't be heading to the dyno till probably end of next month. (too freaking hot right now) It was 115 today : P
But I will keep everybody posted.

If FP says it does not make more power or torque, why don't you believe them (seeing as they designed and manufactured the turbo ) ??? The 80mm cover was designed with a different purpose....

i the extensive reading i did on the red , only remeber 1 guy complaning that he had lost lots of torque by switching to 80mm on a red ....from the standard red

only 1 post by him , HE posted 1 dyno chart that said ams , and the end of his post he wrote

I WONDER IF WERE DOING SOMETHING WRONG HERE

They output the same power, the 80mm COVER not turbo will prevent surging before 5000rpms and it is also LOUDER in vacuum to low boost.

I can't say for sure, but judging based on some of the dyno graphs it seems like the 80mm housing might be a tad laggier.

The 80mm compressor is just bigger for the anti surge portion, looks as if the smaller inlet to the compressor wheel is the same size...

i had both covers on the car, didn't see any increase in power from just swapping them.

I would say the Red. It would be a pretty sick pump turbo with a V5 manifold. The manifold should allow you to run more timing too! I would say 475hp easy on 93 with a V5. I'm just guessing though. If you can hit 575+ on pump HTA3586 then you should be able to reach 475 pump on Red easy, maybe more depending on if you have a ported head, how large your IC is, compression, and cams. I'm not sure that I have seen anyone max the red on pump yet. If anyone has any comments on this please add.
