I have the ACT, it's ok, I get some high rpm lockout. Should hold up on your power, and it's cheap. Maybe check out the CCI clutches. Maperformance.com has some good prices.

There's a ton of info on this already if you search for it.

I too had lockout issues with my act ,, i went Competition clutch stage 4 from MAPerformance as they have the best deals around ,,
I was running a 30r and now a similar turbo so it holds the power
I cant say enough about how good this clutch is so far. a little on the aggressive side but if you want to hold decent power reliably and cheaply this is the way to go

I have the act hdss and flywheel its been fine on the evo 9 turbo on pump. Now though I have been running meth and shifting at 7800 it cant take it. Keeps locking me out in 4th shifting at 7800 like I said.

I should also say that I have a full s.s. clutch line lower and upper. While the clutch pedal is extended to its max also.

I cant take it. Im going with either a SPEC twin from map. Or MAP's twin disk that is also a push type but no hydraulic tob.

I think I would do an Exedy before a quarter master. Something about all the shims and you might have to shim it later. ACT 6 puck would do good for most setups, if you dont launch allot. Twins make lots of noise, LOTS, Lucas said my exedy made the least he had heard. And I thought it was plenty. Sounds like you might be best with the Good ACT setup. But you just have to find out for yourself, I have installed all of them and such, PM me with any questions

Thanks for the kind words guys! Quite a few clutches were mentioned above and all have their upsides and downsides, but whichever way you end up going we guarantee the best pricing Feel free to PM me with any questions or for a recommendation once you have narrowed it down.

exedy twin disk best way to go, has some chatter, but easy daily driving and nice feel to it. not to mention that when its time for a new one you can just rebuild it, thats right they can be rebuilt.

After hearing all the stories about ACT's lockout issues I decided to go with a Competition Clutch Stage 3 kevlar and I've been really happy with it. It's grabby but easy engaging at the same time. It was a great deal too, bought mine from MAP.

I previously have a 6 puck ACT and it was harder to daily drive for sure. With your power level and thinking about a red I would probably have to say twin disk. You will go right through any single disk with the kind of power you're going to put out.
