surging as in not releasing. I believe that surging can damage your turbo. Any one want to clarify?

Ohhh. Well with the current blue spring in there I felt like it was releasing too early.

What does your boost gauge say about that?

I will have to install it again and test it out some more. At the time I was also testing the K&N typhoon intake I just installed- which was crap- so I was trying to monitor too much at once.

All I know is the sound and feel of it wasn't good. If it still doesn't feel good even with replacing the spring I'll sell it and just get the MR DV.

Put the FORGE DV back on last night along with the stock intake. No more screeching and the boost level seems to hold better. I'm happy with it!!!

Now let's see how it handles the Perrin intake I'm going to install.

After a day of a lot of driving I realize this BOV sounds a bit like the turkey that alot of the SRT and MSP guys get. Not really a gobble gobble, but more of a shuttering instead of a steady "swoosh".

It is a different type of DV then I had before (spring loaded instead of piston) so maybe that's it?

Is the blue spring still the best for a car with intake and an MBC?

My experience with the Forge dv is based around their VW products. A chipped GTI or Jetta with push about 18.5psi and most people run the green spring with shim or the yellow spring. Each car reacts differently to it is a trial by error process. With the Evo you are probably pushing a higher psi and therefore would need a stiffer spring. You want to go with the stiffest spring that still allows the dv to release.

The fluttering can be caused by numerous things. I have a Forge on my car with BR stage 4 with no problems.

I had the black Forge recirc DV on my car for all of fifteen minutes. The compressor surge is unbearable. It makes a great paper weight. I need to sell it, but nobody wants it. Hmmm, wonder why?

Noize,

I have to disagree with you here as you definitely had it installed wrong or had the wrong spring in place. I have the same valve and am holding 22 psi with NO problems. Also part throttle situations are PERFECT in every situation and gears.

I'm curious as well. My mods are in my sig and with the forge dv with the blue spring I get surging when getting out of the throttle. I think its time to try the yellow spring which is lighter. Just curious if it will hold the 25psi my race map makes when I take it to the strip this Sat. which the blue spring holds fine. We'll see.

The spring depends on your mods. Basically if you have stock cams and minor mods opt for the yellow one, but if you have aftermarket cams go for the blue one. I basically have a Buschur Stage 4 with the blue one with no problems at all.
