evo's not running

im having a weird problem with my car... its not running lol. Yesterday I was coming home from work and the car was running fine. I pulled into my house and turned the car off to go change. when i came back out to leave my car wouldnt start. as soon as it would turn over it would just shut off. i tried starting it several times but nothing. then i started it and gave it gas and it would run but it would only continue to run if i kept my foot on the gas pedal to give it a little gas keeping it around 900-100 rpms. as soon as i would let off the gas it would shut off.

My friend told me i may have a bad o2 sensor. I bought a new upstream o2 sensor today and replaced it. when we started the car up it ran fine. I turned the heat on while it was idling and the car instantly shut off as soon as i did that. we tried starting it up a couple more times and it reverted back to doing the same thing. as soon as it would start up it would just shut off. we checked all the hoses and everything and started it back up again. this time when it started it was running real ****ty. It started idling at about 500 rpm's and slowly built its way up to about 750. We let it run a while and then shut it off. As soon as we tried to start it back up again it would just shut off.

We started it up and took it for a ride. The car runs fine but anytime you come to a stop or when your drifting and not on the gas and get too low in the rpm's it tries to shut off.

The only thing i can think of that i did yesterday when this started happening was that I got gas. I also put a new exhaust manifold, o2 housing, downpipe and cat on the car but I did that about 2 weeks ago and its been running fine until yesterday.

Any clues on what could be going on because I am completely stumped.

Thanks
Mitch

Maybe the idle control motor is toast.

i unplugged the clip to my idle air control motor and now my car runs but its idling really low. does that sound like the idle motor is bad?
