LOL.

Are you seriously asking for donations to fix this guys race car?

Why doesnt AMS step up for the whole amount if they want him to keep his car so bad.

Give me a break.

I'm sure nils is a great guy.

In fact, he helped me out via PM way back in the day when I was trying to mount my Defi oil pressure sensor.

Nonetheless, if you can afford to go all out on a race car; then you should be able to afford (or foresee) the costs of expected repairwork.

Just my opinion.

No ill will towards nils.

i have never had the pleasure of meeting nils in person but have commented on a couple of his posts. everyone i talk to says he is a great standup guy. he does wonders on the track and his car is beautiful. have heard a few things about the hard times he has come upon. i wish him the best of luck now during the re-build and in the future on the track.

guys should leave out the negative comments. if you dont agree then dont post, just move along.

Decided to take your advice... There is no reason to gripe about this but yes i choose not to donate...

Goodluck on the free rebuild nils.. Wish we could do it for everyone!

I think his sponsors should be paying for this not the community. If 5k is too much for a race car to be rebuilt then he shouldn't be racing. It was bound to happen and he should have expected it. Any dedicated racer would pull it in the garage and wait till they have enough money to finish the job.

best wishes on the rebuild!!! But i learned the hardway. I built a 600+whp acura rsx at 18 years old. Spent every dime i had on the car, blew it up a year later. This was my daily driver so i was screwed. took me almost 4months of bummin rides and saving to rebuild her. I am a stand up guy and a firefighter/emt, but no charity for me. : (

Lesson here: Gotta pay to play.

Who is building the motor?

It all depends. Who's building the motor? Are they doing the build at cost, or are they looking to turn a profit?
I know from personal experience that it doesn't cost 5k to build a motor.

So, if the the shop that's building the motor is going to do it at cost. I have no problem donating.
