Well the BBK just showed that it could go 126+ mph down the strip for those of you that wanted drag numbers....And that was with missed shifts (on just pump and meth and 28psi)....

And unlike the FP turbos, you don't need to buy the new oil line / fiter if you want to run more than 25psi...

In the end, both seem like amazing turbos and more than enough for a very fast street car....

The filter kit that FP recommends is also for them being able to warranty the turbo. Does anyone know if CBRD warrantys theirs???

By the way, with my days in the Buick Turbo V6 world, I have seen numerous turbos running filters before the oil feed to the turbo. You'd be amazed how much less the shaft play is after LOTS of miles. Can't hurt to have some extra filtering, instead of oil being fed from the engine, where you never know what kinds of contaminants can be in there.

Not to say FP doesn't have a good powerful turbo but when contemplating about failures I second guess the RED.

they had several failures in the begining this is true and public knowledge but in the last couple months i have not seen nor heard of another red failing. So it happens bro no product is perfect again NO product is perfect. its like with anything if you are the first to buy your basically the guinea pig so the next batches can be improved in all aspects

we sent a bbk to someone who had two of our competitors turbos die in one weekend

cb

everyone is going to have failures, its how you handle them that counts.

I was leaning heavily towards the FP RED before i found out about the BBK Full. Then I was leaning more towards the BBK Full before the FP HTA GREEN came out. Now I heard about both an FP Black and BBK-XL coming out. In between all of that there is the MAP SST and the Tomei ARMS

LOL

Sometimes having too many choices is a problem. LOL. I'm trying to hold back until next year to upgrade my turbo for a few reasons, but having more more too choose from with good supporting data as to what each one achieves is fast becoming my number one reason.

You have been in my car and I have nothing wrong with my turbo which was tuned for 28psi. I run 27psi just to play on the side of safety. I have the upgraded oil feed line and I haven't put it in yet but no failures to speak of. I think you worry too much. Really stop and think about it. You don't want to run meth so your not going to run extreme amount of boost pressure. So for you 25psi will be fine for you especially since you only want to run pump gas.

I had a question to you Chad. What type of bearing does the BBK use? If it uses the same style bearing wouldn't the BBK benefit from the FP oil feed from the filter? I know FP sugggest if running more then 25psi to use this oil feed. But don't you think if a customer was to run 30psi all day everyday that the BBK would experience the same bearing failure assuming your turbo uses the same style of bearing.
