Just got my ETS Intercooler!!

I just fitted the ETS 3" FMIC and LICP.. and unfortunately, I'm disappointed!
Before getting the 2 parts, a BMW 335 stays right next to me if rolling on 3rd gear. After the 2 parts, the same BMW 335 was right next to me as if there was no improvement. Boost level was and still on 1.2 bar. My reaction was like this --> and then like this -->

to get the most out of those parts, you should be tuned with a higher boost level...

and why didnt you get the 3.5 inch intercooler?

I forgot to mention that my only mods are a catted TBE with drop in filter. So thats why I didnt get the 3.5 the 3" is more than enough for my mods. But still I really expected at least a car difference in imrovement.

was it a new 3 series? aren't they twin turbo if it was? also you definitely should get a tune to maximize that power. my ETS held pretty well and i have an fp red and am running almost 26psi

yes it was the new 3 series and they are twin turbo. I am planning to get a tune but ETS claims that a 7-10 hp gain from the LICP and I think that there was a 0 hp gain.

You could have bought a good mbc and mail-in flash for the less than 1/3 of the money and been +30ish whp.

how much faster do you think 7hp is going to make you go?

you think youre going to gain 15mph in the 1/4 with 7 hp?

Thanks guys for the tips but this is my set up now and if I knew that I wouldnt gain much I would have just got an mbc and a tune. The thing I'm worried about is that with a FMIC and a LICP I gained nothing!! I really mean it!
Is this normal? will I only benefit from my parts after a tune?
I tought that i will at least get a car difference gap against the BMW which was the same before and after the mods.

Simply adding parts can make you lose power without a tune. You could cause yourself to hit different load areas or even simply lean out and the car will pull timing. I would not knock the parts until you have optimized them.

So this is normal and I will gain from the FMIC and LICP after getting a tune?

there's no way that there was a 0 gain...i didn't notice much from the 3.5'' ETS intercooler i installed but when i installed the licp about a week later, there was a very noticeable difference. fast spool, harder pull...everything it was supposed to provide

when that's all said and done...a few hp gained from a licp and intercooler are not going to win races. you won't notice much of a difference...go get a gt35r and then pound his face into the ground

and losing to the new 335i is not a thing to be ashamed of...those twin turbo I6's are absolute monsters

You have made a post about the fact that you did not feel like you made any gains from the addition of the parts. It seemed to me that you are unhappy with them. I did not mean that you are bashing them. Did you get dynoed before the intercooler?
