Well, Pocket Logger works on the evo!
Well, if anyone has been wondering, PocketLogger for the DSM also works on the evo. I think i'm going to invest in this very soon.
I hung out with one of my old DSM buddies today and we did some logging of my evo ussing his DSM PocketLogger. I noticed that my timing is crazy. It bounces from 8 degrees to 37 degress to 14 degrees to 26 degrees when I go WOT. I'll have the graphs of the 3 logs I did tonight and i'll post them here when he emails them to me. I need some of you experts to take a look at them. If it looks pretty bad I think I'm going to have my ECU reflashed back to stock. I've got the prototype Real Engineering ECU.
Has anyone else logged thier figures and had weird timing issues?

lol! i just bought a pocketlogger setup from a 2nd gen dsm'er who went with a dsm-link setup..
got it for 200 bux including a barely used palm pilot!
it looks really sweet! i wanna download the latest version of the program and then i'm gonna go play!
i'm planning on using it to do fine tuning of my safc for when i race, since weather and climate changes make such huge effects on the evo (at least it does to mine!)..
let's keep in touch while we're figuring this thing out!

Wow, 37 degrees of timing? At what rpms are you getting the timing spikes? Let me guess, the drop to 14 degress of timing was around 5500-6000rpm? My friend who use to have an eclipse had the pocketlogger before he got the dsmlink. Using a palm pilot vs lugging a laptop around is a definite plus! However, I am still waiting for the evolink to come out and see how well it does.

Looking at rpms vs timing, the data actually looks normal. For the 1st run, after each shift, timing is going up. With the timing you are getting, it looks like your car is running strong. You sure you can't sample more data points if you log just rpms and timing and maybe o2? For the 2nd run, I can't tell if you went WOT and left off early or?
Yea his car isnt tuned too bad actually. It felt really good. According to his o2 voltage he is a little rich but not TOO much. I freaked out cause I saw that timing spike and it said that he was still at 90+%THR so I was thrown off. I told him that I'd log his car again and do less parameters so we can get more fps which will give us a better idea of his tuning. Also, I didnt to a packet byte timer to get the max FPS from his car so we were only like 5 I think when we were logging...it sucked. Gotta to a better run soon.

according to those graphs your car is experiencing knock, and pulling timing at different rpms. The timing rate should be progressively going up without any dips. Dips mean the ecu is pulling timing because of knock-be careful!
The stock O2 sensor does not read accurately at WOT, so looking at that value is kind of pointless, borrow/buy a wide band they starting to get very affordable. I would concentrate on your knock sensor and trying to get better resolution, if your not seeing any significant knock and your making good power, no worries.
