HTA gt35r vs PT6262

i've been shoping around for a bigger turbo and i've come to a decision that these two are what i'm looking for. could anyone please assist me one what the advantages of the pt6262 turbo over the hta gt35r? i've spoken with a few vendors and they provided that the pt6262 has a smaller compressor wheel but makes more power then an average 35r with the same or better spool but i wonder which one would be the better turbo out of these two.

I would argue in favor of the HTA35R. The redesigned billet compressor wheel flows much better than the standard garrett spec 35R. With the HTA they were able to improve spool time and power production.

I like the 6262 I've ridden on one and the feeling is pretty great, a normal car on E85 with a 6262 will go 9's easily.

Tough decision. I'd probably go 86HTA though.

actually I believe the 6262 compressor wheel is 62mm which is the same size as the hta3586, correct me if I'm wrong.

If your looking in to quicker spool and moderate power go with the HTA35r. If you want big power and lil slower spool go with the 6262. It doesnt make as much power as the 3586 but its cheaper.

haha yeah i was really comparing it with the FP HTA GT3582R and not the FP HTA GT3586R. it is a pretty hard decision. all i know is that the 6262 is cheaper by a few hundred so that might be the deal breaker but even so i rather get the turbo with the most promising results but then again you can't go wrong both ways... thats why it's such a hard decision.

Where has it ever been proven that the HTA86 makes more power then the 6262?

Aparently for the extra money you spend for the HTA86, it out preforms the 6262. Buschur stayed with it rather than going with the Precision.

i just read that they swaped it out for a hta86 but nothing that it was a better turbo. they also stated they sell hta turbos so it's kind of a bias decision without any data.

HTA86 and 6262 are almost the same both turbos flow about the same and make similar power lvls when maxed out but from the cars that have been built up and had these turbo's maxed Most Wanted and AWD White 8.98 Evo is a good example Most Wanted made 804 and the other car from video's I saw max was 784?

I'd like some more information and comments on these turbo's.

I'm deciding between the FP HTA86 and the 6262.

From what I have gathered from the above post's, the HTA86 spools quicker but doesn't have the potential to produce the power the 6262 is capable of making. More info would be sweet.

BTW, I'm looking for a turbo for my BR FF kit.

Both turbos will flow well above 700whp on a 4 cylinder but if it came down to the 2 I would have to take the hta as well. Im not sure if the minimally faster spool will particularly justify the extra cost to YOU but I do want to throw out there that many people have had numerous problems with these turbos. Although it is partially due to the person doing the install, many have reported problems with the JBs not lasting long on high boost levels. They do require a restrictor fitting on the oil feed and are notorious for being finicky with various oil pressures. You are supposed to be a little safer going with a BB unit from precision but thats another $500 option

Money is no issue as long as I'm getting the best parts I can get.

I have a fully built motor and I'll be running 93 pump gas. I'm looking for ~600hp and I'd like to make a mid to low 10 sec pass in the quarter. I'm leaning towards the FP HTA86 because of what I've read.
