If the OP hadnn't specifically mentioned "budget" I would suggest that too, but that isn't exactly "budget".

They both spool around the same RPM. Honeslty, we have ran both on our Evo and they both seem to make around 600whp at 30psi with similar spool.

Thanks,

Michael

So I have been looking at these value kits lately. I was gonna go with a Fpred, but these prices are just awesome. Now, what about if your still on stock head and bottom end. I will prolly be getting BC 272's and definitely a new headgasket and headstuds. But as far as running the DBB PTE61 on a stock bottom end and moderately stock head, whats the verdict?

I went to the unequal length(short runner) too the Equal length. The equal length spools faster and I gained more tq and hp at the same boost level and AFR. If you have the extra money def. go with the equal length. I wish I would of went with the equal length in the first place since I had to pay for the upgrade of the equal length. My short runner(super value) cracked, I then had to pay for the install and a tune. I pretty much lost $500 if not more.

I'd like to know this as well. I originally was going to go with a fpred or bbk setup but I am having second thoughts.

Currently have the ETS 3" TBE and intake.

I have the following supporting mods for a turbo upgrade in the works;
- MBC
- LICP/3.5" FMIC
- Walbro 255 fuel pump
- 880cc injectors
- Kelford 272's
- ARP Headstuds

Am I on the right track here? Goals are mid-400's with a fairly conservative tune.

I would stay away from the BC272 cams and go with a set of GSC or Kelfords cams. The PT61 can be ran on the stock block with no problems. We have a shop guy who has been running one for some time now. I would recommend installing rod bolts to keep the bottom end together though! even on the stock turbo =)

You will see 400-500 on pump gas, and 600 on e-85 or race gas.

Thanks!

Michael
