We have already checked the clearances, it will work For the downpipe though we will put a different lower brace.

yeah, that turbo on a 2JZ with a 3 liter engine hits 19 pounds at like 4700rpms. I am expecting 19lbs at 6000rpms. And from there to 35 pounds it will be fun
Of course, some NOS will help too

Lol...I doubt the factory was thinking someone was going to put a 4.5 inch DP on there.

Actually, that turbo with a properly built engine will do high 8s low 9s. Of course, with a small shot to spool it. But it will be a fun highway car:-)

Yup. Make sure you clear your EVO with the FAA everytime you take it out, cuz that thing will be flying with that big of a turbo.

George,

Thought about which tranny to use yet?? The stock tranny will definately not hold and I hear from some DSM shops that even dog gears break when the car is 600+ hp. And how much are you going to raise the redline by? 1000rpm of turbo boost is definately not worth the money or effort. In my opinion, if you're going to use so much nitrous to spool the turbo for only 1000+ rpm of turbo boost, I would very much rather use NOS all the way (300 shot maybe) instead of changing to any kind of turbo. Another concern is the internals. No doubt Tomei makes great engine internals, but they are definately not bulletproof and may not hold such power or a crazy increase in redline. Your engine block may not hold either, ever thought of reinforcing the engine block? Making a 1000hp car is easy by theory, but a lot of parts in the car are interconnected eg engine and tranny. From your upgrade list, it looks to me that it will be an unsuccessful attempt.

Stock redline is 7800rpms, not 7000, so that is 1800rpms left for HIGH boost. The turbo will make around 10psi at 4500rpms, which is still FASTER than stock, but not even close to the topend.
The internals will be holding the 1000bhp(800whp). Everything will be swain coated etc. The rods will take a 9000-9500rpm redline. So that will leave us with a 3500rpm margin of nice HIGH boost.
I agree about the tranny. We will really try to stay away from drag racing the car, it will be used mostly for highway racing( single Supras, Zs, RX7s etc). When teh trans fails, we will put a new one, not a prblem. Just stay away from lauching it, and it will be fine.
Alos, the 1000hp is the potential of teh turbo. It WILL NOT make 1000whp. More like 700whp(800whp with a NOS 75 shot).

George

Your putting a T51R to street race? I would love to make lots of obscene comments but I already got a warning today
