Evo viii maf vs evo ix

i think mine is having issues (IX MR). my buddy has an VIII. same part? i'm wanting to know so i can use his and see how my car runs.

anyone happen to know?

I don't have the Service Manual here at work. But all you would need to do is look for the part# on the 2 MAF's and see if they are the same and try them out. Although since the 9 has MIVEC, it's probly a much better idea to find another 9 to swap with. my .02

Pretty sure they are the same. I've been using an evo 8 MAF on my evo 8.5 (IX motor/harness) for a while now, no issues.

I have an evo IX maf on my car, cause I had one, and mine was a bit roughed up...
They all read a tad different, so if you have a really thorough tune, you may want it retuned, it through off my AFR's a little...
Things like that bother me though...
