Exclamation a couple simple questions!?!?!plz help

1)
I know what a turbo timer is made for but what exactly does it do?I mean i know it waits for a period of time till the turbo and engine cools down then turns off the motor but how exact does the turbo cool down?is there a type of fluid that runs through the turbo itself?what is it?Or by just spining it gets cooled off?

2)
Another question is my cars pulley is bent (its the power steering pulley on the very top)Is that possiable to be fixed?Or bought sepratly? After i had crashed my car the pulley was bent AFTER fixing the car, the fixer said he had bent it by accendent trying to fix something else

3)
My Air conditioning doesnt work right now because i havent filled it up yet after the crash , will it cause any problems not filling it up for a while?or is the the fluid or gas that is the actual thing that cools down the turbo?

4)
Im also waiting to find a cheap used ACD pump off ebay , what can possiably happen if i drive the car normal without any sharp fast turns until i get the part (probably going to get the part in about 4 months) and sometimes het the drag strip???

Ive asked the last question before and sorry for asking again because i didnt get a satisfied answer

Thank you guys for all the help

answer to number 1- depending on what turbo your running(oil cooled)/(water/oil cooled) a TT allows clean fresh oil to circulate threw to help the bearings in the turbo. My opinion only time to even consider a TT is if you go to an aftermarket oil cooled one only.

1) Oil and water run through the turbo. The way I've always heard, it allows oil to flow through it so that the hot oil does not become crusty/dried/coked up in the lines. It's just a good idea to let it cool down, especially if you've just beaten on it. It helps with the longevity of the turbo I think.

2) If it works, it should be ok. Not sure if the pulley can be separated from the pump.

3) no a/c sucks, it will be ok though.

4) With a dead acd pump, I think the front becomes an open diff and will spin front wheels before the back catches up... Should be ok though, wouldn't drive it too hard like that.

That is basically correct, but in my opinion TT for DD are a complete waste of money... I used one in my GTi for like ~1.5 yrs, and now I just use it as a volt meter It kinda got annoying.

Honestly, who drives the crap out of their car and than just shuts it off??? If you do this, than maybe a TT is for you....The mechanism of what happens is your exhaust housing is extremely hot, and than instead of allowing the coolant to cool the turbo (or oil depending on the cooling housing) you shut the car off and the oil that sits inside of the housing does not circulate, which of course over heats and cakes/gunks up.

But if you drive your car normally after you beat on it for like 60seconds the housings cool down, or if you are really paranoid you can just let it idle.... I would spend the money else where.

my $0.02
