Its not going to be too far-- maybe a hundred. going to depend on how the TC let go and how much crap is grinding the rest of the tc away-- either way if you have a whine get it fixed asap, it aint going to help anything to drive it--may end up costing you more.

I drove mine with the whine for a month or two, no problems. But, IIRC one major problem that can occur should the TC totally fail is 4-wheel lock-up.

Get in touch with Shep or TRE and get a new one, I'm pretty sure they'll still send you a new one and take your old one in and refund you part of the money for your core (that's what TRE did with mine). Then you can have as little of downtime as possible.

If you're already going to Shep, the best answer can be gotten from Shep, I'd call him and double check. Both Shep and Jon (TRE) know their **** and are always happy to answer questions, especially from customers. I'd say you should be fine, though that will be quite the noisy ride!

Mine was honestly fine for at least a month of driving, which is way more than 9 hours. And I didn't drive it gently either. I bet you'll be fine, just don't do any launches

the whine comes from wear on the ring and pinion gear. As long as no big parts break off and get wedged in the diff or in the teeth you'll probably be good. changing your fluid to get the "chunks" out before the trip might not be a bad idea.

DONT BEAT ON YOUR CAR FOR SURE!

I "daily-drove" almost 6 months on my whiner. The vid floating around the internet of the "death whine" was driven on for...I believe a year. Be conservative on your trip, let Shep do the rest, and it will be a much quieter ride home!

There's really no real way to determine how long it'll last. Could be 6months or 6days... The only way to find out is when it's too late

I would agree to that.....

I drove mine for well over a month, well over 1000miles... I saw a post where someone drove 12k until it exploded and destroyed the case.....

I granny shifted below 3k, and never put any kind of real load on the drivetrain.... if you want to make it last, than use the minimum amount of power it takes to move your car
