as far as knock goes......it maybe phantom, so verify nothing is hitting under the car = be certain there is plenty of clearance.....

to me, this is your cause for not making much more power over the stock turbo.....

at the very least, cams will wake your engine up, now that you have the turbo to supply the engine with some air

for me, i picked up a bunch of power with the fp-red....over a green & oem e9.

here are my optimized results for all set-ups on 91 octane & cosi m2 cams....cam timing was changed a bit to maximize each set-up.

yes, they all were run at different boost levels....

oem 25psi, tapering to 23
grn 26 psi tapering to ~25 = my green didnt make more power with more boost
red 28psi till max revs

all mods are the same, except for turbo's & corresponding tune.

all numbers below are calculated to read like a dynojet = local dyno @ the time of testing.

the knock could be caused by his mivec map if u run more aggressive toward redline in the mivec maps it causes the car to be very sensitive to ignition timing advance

Here is his comparison of his car from 9 turbo on pump gas 24psi spike to his Red at 26psi spike both on 93 pump gas. Red was tuned to 11.0 A/F while stock turbo was tuned at 11.5 A/Fs. IMHO this is right on target for his mods... It picked up a little over 100WHP is areas and would have been even more the higher the RPMs went... Pretty damn good if u ask me for the minimal mods and the VERY conservative tune that he asked for!!

Looks damn good to me, getting some cams, and maybe a manifold that is going to help me out.

I am not running 28 pounds, and I dont have cams, so that would make sense you have like an extra 50 whp due to these factors that I dont have, which would also indicate that I am where I need to be! What know son ?

Yes Mantosride and I are very well aware that higher boost will get this turbo more in its range.

I mean no offense to anyone BUT... Maybe i need to post up more or something as i feel im getting talked to like im a newbster when i have been building/working on and tuning the 4G63 engine for about 14 years now lol But its all good i cant expect the world to know that

OP your bov is leaking. I made 420 on a quick tune on 92 octane @ 25psi ... NO cams.

I bet you have a stock 9 or 8 bov... it's leaking.

I'm looking to make about 400hp with retaining as many stock parts as possible so this sounds like a good setup to me

Sir i am a step ahead of that game as well I have a modified stock BOV here for him that i had on my car that i tested to 32-33psi and 560WHP solid on my car at one time on my many setups lol. He is going to get these cams in he ordered and when we retune i had planned on throwing the BOV on for him unless he wants to buy a nice aftermarket unit... but at his power and boost level the modified stock 9 i have here will do the trick just fine.

I picked up 50kpa of boost pressure by modding my 9 bov with the Red... I was significantly down on power. I had to rescale my injectors after I fixed the bov leak if that puts it in perspective. I don't doubt your experience, but sometimes and extra eye helps out.

This thread's title and original post are the cause for all of the comments...Had the original post read - I just installed an FP Red and was just tuned at 26 psi and 8* peak timing and am making ~400whp, there would be few comments other than congrats and turn up the boost .
