Upgrade O2 housing question

I'm going to upgrade my o2 housing. Prior to doing so, I just want to know if I'm going to need to get a defouler or not. I want to ensure that my "cel" will not come on and I want to make sure I don't damage my stock o2 sensor. Was thinking of going with Megan Racing but it all depends on funds.
Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance EvoM.

No. you don't need an extender for the o2 housing o2 sensor, that's only for the rear.

K thanks. That's what my friend told me. With that being said, will it cause any harm to the o2 sensor itself? Like burning it out? I remember running an open cat on my civic and I didn't use a defouler and it burnt out my sensor. I was just paranoid of it happening again.

Thanks again

I want Megan Racing but I might go with a cheapo eBay one. Not sure. I just want to make sure that it doesn't crack on me. Any recommendations?

Thanks for your input. I appreciate it.

it still boggles me how the stock o2 sensor on the o2 housing does not go bad when an after market o2 housing is installed.

how? Its not like its changing much, the o2 still remains in the same position. The rear o2 doesn't go bad either.
just because you get a check engine light, doesn't mean the o2 went bad, it means the ECU is seeing an inaccurate
foreign reading from what it's programmed to see from mitsubishi.

this is the first time ive heard of the 02 housing itself causing a CEL. I am thinking of doing th is mod as well, is it common? I have a 02 simulator for after the test pipe, so that shouldnt be a problem

I don't think anyone mentioned changing out the o2 housing will throw a CEL.

Only the rear o2 throws CEL usually after a downpipe install.
