I bought a new HKS GD PRO TWIN CLUTCH and it didnt come w/ any instructions. I did call HKS USA and hopefully they can fax me the japanese only instructions this week. Until then, i was wondering if anyone has installed one of these on their evos and if so... WTF is the packaged metal rod looking thing w/ screws used for??? Other than the twin clutch, flywheel, the pull type bearing clip thing..., and the slave cylinder extension rod... I can't see what the heck this 5-6 inch metal rod part is for? Sorry i dont have pics or a camera... But if you've ever installed one of these then i'm sure you've seen it in the box. Anyone w/ this clutch please PM me Thanks!

Maybe to hold the old flywheel from spinning when removing the bolts?

 

no. you just have it in gear and the pressure plate bolts are never that tight. The flywheel bolts are hit off w/ an impact gun so issues w/ it spinning are not relevant. And no, its not the alignment tool.... (i've installed clutches plenty of times so thats why i am puzzled at what this part is used for.) In the bag is a collection of c-clips, washers, and the 5-6 inch long tube/pipe about 1/2" thick.

 

Sorry to drag this old post up, but has anyone got a picture of the 5-6 " bar that i need to fit the hks clutch i am really desperate as i got the car in bits.
Any help would be really appreciated.
