Oil leaking from temperature sending unit

Tried searching but no leads. I have a ix mr with own gauges. I noticed I am getting some oil residue from the wire that is connected to the drain bolt and I am getting a little oil residue coming off the wire. Is there a trick to taking the bolt off? Does the cable screw off befor you should take the drain bolt off?

Most likely someone did not replace the drain plug gasket and just a little soaked the bolt / wire...I doubt it is the sender...

NO, the wire wont come off the drain bolt. On your next Oil change, take the drain bolt out and replace the washer. This will prevent that said oil residue over your sending unit's cable.

I did replace the washer. So the sender does not come out.

Also, there are other possible source for the oil leak (it is not the sender)....Just keep an eye on your oil level and you should be fine....(PS - my line has oil on it, but that is from the oil changes...)
