In my experience, if you don't want to use the OEM fill you're best off going with Castrol Syntorq LT. Of course, I sell that fluid (so take this with a grain of salt) but it's a fully synthetic fluid that matches the OEM Super DIaQueen's 75W-85 weight.

I have over 130,000 miles on my 6 speed now.

I ran the stock 85w Dia-Queen from day one till I was putting down close to 400WHP and my third gear syncro started going out. Switched to Amsoil Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90. It's a top grade GL-4 lube. Next change I am going to swith to BG Syncroshift II because I hear that it is the best. The shop I take my car to recommends Redline Shock Proof Light.

I run Amsoil 10w-40 in the engine and Redline Shock Proof Heavy in the T-case and Rear Diff! Hope that helps.

PS I put down 470WHP with the FP Red! And have plans for a Shep five speed!

Do yourself a favor, and DO NOT put BG II in your 6 speed. You will thank me.

BG II may be ok for the 5 speed. But when it was in my 6 speed, I had it taken out 200 miles later because shifting sucked so bad. Plus, it's really thin fluid. I think it's a 75W-80 fluid. I would say not to use it in a 6 speed based on my experience.

Do you use the redline LSD additive in the rear diff with the HD shockproof?

I'm currently running the Castrol SynTorq that Erik sells, and have not had any issues with it. I will probably try out the Amsoil products next time I have to change the tranny fluid, since I have heard a lot of positive reviews for them.

Why would you want to try anything else, you are super the best oil in the market 100% synthetic great for the bearings and syncros, and still a 90 oil wich is what your gear like.

comment a little biased ah !

Nope, I was told I don't need it with the Heavy.

My first 6spd ripped teeth off 4th at approx 30k. Was using BGII

My second 6spd (TRE built) started making nasty noises at almost exactly 60k. Was using MT90 with some Shockproof heavy.

Finally put my 5spd in and been happy ever since. Running straight MT90

Still haven't pulled apart the second 6spd to see what it's fate was. I might just blow it up and wash it away from my life.
