I have always stuck with stock fluids, especially in the 6 speed in my car. Everything has worked just fine to this point. I know its a little pricey but order jugs of the diaqueen lsd and the tranny oil and you should have enough for like 2-3 tranny changes and a bunch of transfer case and rear diff changes. It a little pricey up front but you will be able to do ti multiple times with the gallon jug they give you. I am starting to have a little trouble shifting with the tranny, I don't think its going on me yet, I just think I might need to switch up the fluid from the diaqueen, so if you hear of a good type to use for the 6 let me know.... good luck with the service

i recommend using the diaqueen lsd lube for the rear diff and t-case...tranny is good with a lot of different things...i actually just did my fluid change...i used the pennzoil synchromesh which is the same as the gm synchromesh...autozone $6.99/quart...

funny that buchnerj says use the oem cause I have...and I think I'm going to change! (paraphrased, obviously)

I used OEM on my 30k but I think I'll go AMSOil for my 45k just to try it out. It is much cheaper to go non-OEM, and a lot of people swear by Redline, AMSOil, etc.

Amsoil 0w-30 in the engine and GL-4 in the tranny. Redline Shockproof Heavy in the t-case and rear diff. I change in engine oil every 3000-5000 miles or two months and the tranny, tcase and rear diff every 10k.

I went with AMSoil. Have a local dealer like 5 mins from me, so I get a discount. Great oil I suppose, I can't really tell the difference but whatever.

I say go with what's cheaper/better suited for you.

Diaqueen only for anything other than the Engine.

Can't go wrong with OEM.

^I don't know. These OEM parts are seeing stress that the OEM hadn't intended.

You cant go wrong with the OEM fluids. I had the same dilemma and wasnt sure what to do for my 15000 fluid change. I was a little skeptical not using the OEM Diaqueen however I did a lot of research on here. A lot of people liked the AMSOIL however I wasnt sure if they were/are just AMSOIL fanboys. Well anyway I decided to give it a try.

Its been almost 4000 miles since I changed everything and the car is still running strong. The only difference that I noticed was in the shifting of my tranny. It seems to be much smoother. Other than that I really didnt notice any changes so in that sense I guess its a good thing. Its really up to you. As for me, I am happy and will be buying AMSOIL again.

YOu wont notice the difference right off tha back, but mark my words your pocket $$ will notice the difference down the road when you dont have to replace syncros , sleves, and bearings because of the high quality synthetic oils you have in your car right now.
